Review: Glow Home Screen Designer offers fun and easy customization

Create glowing backgrounds for apps or rows of apps on your iOS home screen.

Glow Home Screen Designer includes a number of options to customize the home screen of your iOS device, including new backgrounds, glowing shelves, and app outlines. While the design is a bit dated with the advent of iOS 7, the effects still look good and the app allows you to customize in a number of ways.

If you are interested in customizing your home screen, there are quite a few apps that will allow you to do so -- be sure you pick one that fits your desired style. Glow Home Screen Designer has a decidedly bright and glowing look to it that you won't find in other apps. When you open it for the first time, you are given a tutorial showing you how to use the app and everything it can do. You are then taken to a home screen where you can start dropping and dragging glowing shelves, individual app outlines, or new backgrounds. All of this is free and fairly easy to use, though there is an overabundance of ads that pop up periodically and some of the options are locked until you pay for them.

If you enjoy a glowing background or frame for your apps, then Glow Home Screen Designer is for you. It's free, it includes dozens of options for backgrounds, shelves and app outlines, and it's fairly easy to use. The ad placement is a problem at times but otherwise, it runs well and does what it is designed to do.
