Eternalbum is designed to create customizable albums on your iOS device that work seamless in an endless, flat interface. However, with a number of issues in the layout of that interface, a slow load time when adding new images to your albums, and limited options for editing those albums, the app can prove frustrating to use.
When you open the app for the first time, you can start by creating a new album. Choose a name and subtitle for your album and you are prompted to start adding photos. You can choose to add them one at a time or add all from an existing album on your device, on Facebook, Instagram, or other online sources. The range here makes for a solid selection but the time it takes to load those images can be problematic. We tested moving images from the Camera Roll directly and it took on average of about one second per image selected, so while moving one to five images, the time wasn't too bad, but when moving 20 plus images, it could take a very long time, and when selecting all (90 images), it stalled for more than two minutes. Once loaded, images will sit in your album with a number of effects, including a reflection and an endless style scroll. Seeing the options buttons to add new photos, delete images, or move them, however, is difficult and tapping an image opens a standard gallery interface.
Eternalbum has a lot of good ideas, but due to the slow operation of the app, the problems we had in seeing interface buttons, and the lack of other tools for editing images or moving them around within an album, it is not our first choice for a secondary album creation tool.
