Review: Ever Password stores password and other sensitive information

Store passwords and personal data with this potent password manager that works on iOS, as well.

Ever Password for Mac allows you to easily manage an unlimited number of passwords and log-in details directly from your desktop. It works not only on Mac, but also on iOS, provided that you install companion software on your iPhone or iPad.

Ever Password for Mac features a vault-like screen through which you can easily view and edit personal information like bank account or car info. The menu bar options are minimal, and there is no Help file either. With just a click on the plus icon, you can add new items to any of the categories in the vault, and then provide additional information by filing the text boxes. The app also offers a password generator and iOS device syncing. To sync passwords and personal data between devices you have to install a free companion iOS application on your mobile device. Once you do that, the passwords and sensitive data you store online using the Mac app will be updated in the iOS app, as well. However, even though the program utilizes 256-bit AES encryption, the SSL certificate for the Web site was invalid, which makes security of this application and its services somewhat questionable.

Still, when it comes to functionality Ever Password for Mac does what it promises, is accessible, and works with iOS devices, as well. You can't expect more from a password manager -- except maybe for a valid SSL certificate. This is definitely something the developers should look into.
