Review: slideshow Maker creates movies in MP4 format from photos

Turn your photos into basic slideshows in a few easy steps using slideshow Maker.

slideshow Maker creates quality slideshows from any number of photos that you can then enhance with your favorite tunes. It's a free app and doesn't come with any watermarks, which makes it worth trying out.

Before you get started with your slideshows, you have to deal with an ad agreement. If you accept it, the app will insert ads all over your phone, including in your browser and status bar. slideshow Maker loaded our entire gallery pretty fast and, with just a quick tap on each, we were able to select as many pictures as we wanted to add to our slideshow. We were also able to throw in some music from our SD card, which was quite cool. The interface let us quickly slide through available options. We were able to choose from eight available transition options and four different resolutions, and export the file as an MP4. It took a few minutes for the app to create a 34-second-long slideshow in the highest resolution (HD 800X600). The end result looked pretty decent -- maybe not professional grade, but still good. However, we would have liked to have the ability to change the time in between photo transitions. The good news is that unlike other apps, slideshow Maker won't watermark your photos or sneak in ads in the slideshow, itself. If you like, you can also quickly share newly-made slideshows with your friends on Facebook and Google+.

Overall, slideshow Maker is a nice app that creates slideshows using an unlimited number of photos and lets you add your own flair by including music. If you don't mind some ads and can live without advanced customization options, this app is certainly worth installing.
