Review: Create videos using your own footage and edit them with Video Maker Pro Free

Cut videos and add special effects to them directly on your Android device -- not without some frustration.

Video Maker Pro Free allows you to create custom videos, add basic effects, and edit them. This app is far from perfect, though, and it suffers from lags and glitches that make creating and editing videos a less than enjoyable experience. On top of the performance issues, there are a lot of ads to deal with, as well.

You shouldn't be deceived by the nice interface and fetching icon pack -- what's underneath the hood is far less impressive. We experienced a noticeable lag time when trying to open a video, and then had to deal with frequent frozen and black screens that forced us to quit the app and relaunch it, making the editing almost impossible. The video cutting and clipping tools, as well as the basic effects for enhancing videos, are the usual kind of features you'd expect from this type of application. But Video Maker Pro Free's instability made it hard for us to finish editing a video, let alone test all the features.

Approach Video Maker Pro Free with caution. It might be more stable on your device than it was on ours, but be prepared for some technical issues if you give this app a try. We suggest you look elsewhere for a video creation and editing tool.
