Review: Tubbler for Mac creates playlists of YouTube videos

Create video playlists of selected YouTube videos with this free and efficient video playback application for Mac.

Tubbler for Mac allows users to create playlists of their favorite YouTube videos, making it easier to watch a selection of videos without loading them individually for playback. You can quickly drag and drop selected YouTube videos right in the interface, arrange the play order, play videos in various resolutions, and more.

Right at the start, Tubbler for Mac introduces users to an intuitive interface that quickly guides you through the process. The menu bar features controls for importing YouTube videos, playback controls, view options, and an informational Help menu that is searchable. The main UI is sleek and intuitive, allowing users to drag and drop YouTube preview images or YouTube URLs to add videos and create playback lists. Playback resolutions include 1080p HD, 720p HD, 480p, 360p, and 240p. Users may arrange video playlists and view videos in a floating window or in fullscreen mode. During testing, both viewing options offered clear and untroubled playback. In addition, there are two player modes available -- Streaming and Flash Player. When in streaming mode the player doesn't require Adobe Flash Player, which is a real advantage. During testing, the videos played without any hesitation, and Tubbler handles this efficiently, drawing only about nine percent CPU usage. Additional options, such as viewing the playback cue by clicking the television icon located in the playback controls as well as repeat playback, make this a fully-featured video player. The application also offers support for Apple Remote, but this option wasn't tested.

Tubbler for Mac represents an ideal freeware YouTube video playback solution. This application is suitable for any Mac user wanting to customize their YouTube video playback by creating playlists.
