Review: Total Audio Converter works well and has plenty of add-ons

Convert your music files to multiple popular file formats using feature-packed and fast Total Audio Converter.

Total Audio Converter offers all of the features, performance, and speed you'd need from an audio converter. It's one of the most complete conversion programs you can find and is a steal at its low price.

The free version of the program only lets you convert up to two thirds of the track, so you'll have to pay if you want the whole thing. The program doesn't support every format under the sun, but all of the most popular formats are here, such as MP3, MP4, WAV, FLAC, WMA, etc. Each one has its own button, so you can easily find it and start the converting process. Total Audio Converter only takes a few seconds for each minute of your track. Before you start, you can change all sorts of info. about the file, like bit rate, compression, and more. You can even trim parts of the song to get the exact section you want. The program's hierarchical menu directly mirrors your Windows Explorer menu, so you'll have no trouble finding files. Total Audio Converter even sports a built-in CD Ripper and YouTube downloader, so you have more ways to get music onto your computer.

Though you can find the similar feature set in some free downloads, it won't be nearly as well-executed as it is here. Total Audio Converter is as close to seamless as it gets in terms of file converters and definitely worth the price.

Editors' note: This is a review of the trial version of Total Audio Converter 5.2.70.
