Review: FlipFilmer converts your videos into interactive flip books you can share

Create flip books out of your videos to share with friends and family.

FlipFilmer allows you to turn any video into a flipbook that you can then send to friends. While setup and execution can be time consuming and a bit complicated, they are worth it for the finished product.

When you first start FlipFilmer, you can view the sample book by flipping it to the side. It shows you exactly how to do it, and the effect is mesmerizing. It's only a few seconds before you want to try this on your own and the app makes that process relatively easy, providing much-needed guidance for getting started. You can either record a video directly in the app for the flipbook or you can import one from your photo library and choose a section of the clip. Of course, things like audio are stripped out of the flipbooks, so these are best for big motions that will show up well, but the finished result was very cool, even when our video choices weren't the best.

Despite a moderately slow startup phase as you figure out the controls (which the app helps with quite well), FlipFilmer is fun to use and produces exceptionally entertaining, short flip films that you can easily send to other users whenever and wherever you want.
