Review: Fast & Furious 6 is a speed-laced mini-racer that fans of the film will love

Upgrade and race a full range of licensed cars in this high-paced drag racing game.

Fast & Furious 6 - The Game is very much like the film on which it is based -- fast, familiar, and a lot of fun without trying too hard. Where other games in this genre try to add dozens of new features and overload the senses with options and explosive game modes, Fast & Furious 6 focuses intently on what it does best -- varied and high-octane drag strip racing between top-rated real world roadsters. The result is a lot of fun.

When you start the game, you are given a short tutorial on how to start, shift, and race your car. It's very straightforward, setting the tone for the game as a whole. While new modes and options are added as you progress, the game is generally very easy to pick up and play for a few seconds as you tap, shift, and make your way to victory (or a blown manifold). Upgrades come as you race and acquire money, and familiar characters from the film crop up to help you along or block your path. It's a fast-paced thrill ride from start to finish and a lot of fun if you enjoy tweaking and racing cars in any format.

Fast & Furious 6 - The Game is not a revolutionary racing game. It does a lot of things we have seen before, but it does them in fun ways, and the package is well polished, loads fast, and is easy to pick up and play. Overall, this is a good game that car lovers will enjoy.
