Review: Pix: Pixel Mixer includes lots of great filters, but lacks cropping

Combine filters to create the perfect photo on your Android device using stylish Pix: Pixel Mixer.

Pix: Pixel Mixer lets you do a lot with its dozens of great filters, but misses some real editing features. You may be willing to forgive that flaw once you see how good the app looks and how good it makes your photos look, however.

This app layers multiple filters and lens effects over the same photo for a truly unique experience. The dozens of filters offer more than you'd expect from similar apps. You can add design overlays to the photos, too. There are even some borders, but these are nothing too special. Pix: Pixel Mixer lets you edit any photos on your hard drive or take a new picture and port it right into the app. The app doesn't have a built-in camera, though, so you'll need to use a separate camera. The app doesn't include cropping or resizing features, either. It makes up for its lack of features with a really stylish, easy-to-use menu. You'll be able to find and apply effects in no time thanks to its helpful buttons and menus. You can even favorite certain effects for easy access.

This application includes a unique blend of styles and does a great job at making your photos look really creative. If you don't mind having another app nearby to crop things, you might like Pix: Pixel Mixer. You should at least try it to see its awesome photo effects for yourself.
