Helium App Sync & Backup saves copies of your vital data for you if you don't want to do it, yourself. It includes an app backup in addition to backing up your sensitive files, but it's a major pain to set up. It takes most of the appeal of automatic backup away.
Helium App Sync & Backup is made mostly for rooters, but it will work with some unrooted phones, too. To be sure it works with yours, check developer options in your settings menu and see if you can turn on USB debugging. If you can't, this app is useless for you. Once you've done that, you'll still have to download a desktop app to work with Helium. If all of those strings attached don't turn you off, the app can provide decent backup. The backup scheduling works and cloud backup is really helpful. It'd be nice if the app supported more cloud options than Box, Google Drive, and Dropbox, though.
It's not that this is a bad app; it's just that it makes something you can do, yourself, harder than actually doing it, yourself. In the time it takes to download and set up Helium App Sync & Backup, you could have had everything on your SD card moved to your computer. If not, you could have easily downloaded one of the countless other backup apps on Android.
