Split Pic 2.0 Review

Be prepared to deal with lots of intrusive ads.

Split Pic 2.0 - Clone Yourself, Better is a neat little app that lets you snap three different pictures to create a fun effect. The problem, however, is that the app is so full of ads that it ruins the user experience.

As soon as you run Split Pic 2.0, you're bombarded with ad after ad, and we very nearly tapped each one by accident. Once you can bypass them, you're greeted with the main menu, which has yet another banner ad slapped on the lower half of the screen. From there, you can select between different two-column and three-column layouts. The four-column layouts are locked. We tapped the three-column layout and immediately an ad took over our screen. The app lets you snap new pictures, or you can choose from your Camera Roll. If you take new pictures; the app contains an automatic timer feature that snaps pictures in five-, 15-, 30-, and 60-second increments. We selected the five-second increment and held up our phone. Tapping the camera icon started the countdown so that we could move our phone wherever needed to snap a picture for each column. The app contains several editing tools, such as a blur tool to blur the column lines, a placement tool to move each picture around, and a tool for changing the colors. Just beware: Each time you tap a different feature, yet another ad appears. The app's Share tool makes it easy to upload your newly created picture to Facebook, Tumblr, Twitter, Instagram, and more.

If you're looking for this kind of effect for your pictures, this app is worth a shot. Just be prepared to deal with lots of intrusive ads.
