Homebase - Facebook Home Theme 1.6 Review

Give your phone a lockscreen that's more connected to Facebook with Homebase - Facebook Home Theme.

If you're bummed out that your phone can't use Facebook Home, this app promises to help. Homebase - Facebook Home Theme claims to give you the lock screen and features you'll see on Facebook Home. Sadly, what it actually delivers is a buggy lock screen that doesn't even lock your phone -- or mimic Facebook Home.

Though this app claims to be a Facebook Home Theme lock screen, it doesn't seem to be. In fact, it doesn't seem to be a lock screen at all. Instead of locking your phone, Homebase shows up after you unlock your phone, blocking you from any of your other home screens until you unlock. It sometimes lags, letting you get to a home screen and then popping up to block you, too. Once you're actually through the "lock screen" you can move to one of four apps. These can be changed, but you can't add more. This app makes you give it permissions to use Facebook, too. However, it doesn't seem to give you any bonus access to Facebook once you do.

It really makes you wonder why the app tried to brand itself as a Facebook lock screen in the first place. If you really have to have Facebook Home or a Facebook phone, you're going to have to wait. Homebase - Facebook Home Theme doesn't give you what you're looking for. In most cases, it doesn't even give you a functional lock screen. Don't let this app's clever marketing suck you in.
