Protect your photos with Secret Photos

Store and protect your photos behind a password with Secret Photos.

In the last few years, the iPhone has become one of the most popular digital camera devices in the world. Millions of photos are snapped every day and stored in a relatively easy-to-access folder. With no added security beyond the initial passcode you can activate for your phone, iOS is not exactly secure - especially if you lose your phone or someone gains access to it. Secret Photos provides an added layer of security for users that want to prevent a stranger or someone without permission from accessing their personal photos.

Secret Photos is a very simple app. The first time you open it, you'll be prompted to enter a password. That password cannot be reset or changed, so don't forget it. If you do, your only option is to uninstall and reinstall the app, which will of course result in loss of your photos. From there, after logging in you can take photos that are then protected by the password login. With only a single ad placed relatively out of the way, this free app is not only effective but very quick, easily as fast and intuitive as the built-in photo library provided by Apple. The one issue we found is that if you leave the app open and press the home button, it remains logged in for a few minutes until the app resets. So be sure to press the "lock" button before closing it.

If you take photos that you would rather not have seen by people outside your family, consider Secret Photos as a powerful tool to protect and lock down that content. It is free, easy to use and operates quickly and without any glitches or hangups. There are paid apps that have more features, but for basic protection of your photos, this is a great starting place.
