Browse popular sites with Launched

Check out a list of top sites and bookmarks.

When it comes to bookmarks on mobile gadgets, there hasn't been a home run yet. There are dozens of different ways to save your favorite sites, but none of them work without a hitch. With Launched, that hitch is huge and glaring. You can browse some sites, but you can't save your own sites to the app. Even with the preloaded sites, there are too many hiccups to make the app worth using.

The app only offers a list of popular sites that you probably use. Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and dozens of other big names are here. You can't use Launched to load other sites, and there is no way to add your own bookmarks or favorite apps. You can't choose which browser the app loads sites in, either. When you do choose a site to load, it doesn't give you any feedback to show that it registered your touch. Since the app can often take a minute or more to load sites, this makes the app downright infuriating to use. Another drawback is that almost half of the included apps don't have screenshots -- they just display a broken image notification. That's the only problem with the way the program looks, though. It sports a very neat, pleasing layout.

It's tough to tell if Launched was trying to be a bookmarking app or a custom launcher, because though it's nice to look at, it fails at being either. Save the space on your phone and search for any other app to meet those needs.
