There are tons of photo-editing apps out there and ImageChef is another contender in a saturated market. However, its large variety of fun templates and user-friendly design make it stand out above the rest.
To get started with ImageChef, you have to either sign in with your Facebook username and password, or you can choose to register by entering your e-mail address, a password, and your name. A lined column on the left side has a button at the bottom labeled Find Friends. A blank screen sits just to the right and has three menu options: Create, User Made, and Feed. Since our screen was blank, we first tapped Create and were given a large menu of image options to select for adding text. Being big fans of all things coffee-related, we selected an enticing shot of a cappuccino. From there we were able to add our text, and it appeared as if photoshopped onto the cappuccino's froth. We were able to share our finished picture via e-mail, text message, and even Facebook and Twitter directly from the app. The app also lets you take a picture or select one from your camera roll and add effects, such as adding the image to a Wild West-inspired "Wanted" sign, or even onto a box of cereal. The User Made menu option lets you view and use templates that other users have made, while the Feed lets others in the ImageChef community comment on and "like" your image. A banner ad lines the bottom of the screen, but we found it fairly unobtrusive.
If you're looking for a quick way to add fun effects to your images or to your favorite quotes, you can't beat ImageChef. We highly recommend it for all users.
