The zombie craze is everywhere: movies, television, and even large-scale events. MakeMeZombie aims to bring the zombie fun to your Android device, but it could use a few more editing options.
MakeMeZombie is fundamentally a photo-editing app. Though its interface could be more straightforward, we found that the process was actually very simple after a bit of trial and error with the various buttons. You upload a picture from one of your galleries and mark the photo to identify the eyes of the person you want to apply the effects to. You can then apply various texture filters that provide depth and detail, distorting the image to make the person look more like the undead. Initially, it was fun to apply the "zombification" process and see the results, but because the editing options are limited, the fun factor didn't last as long as we expected. We would have liked to see more facial design options to get more varied looks from picture to picture. You do have the option of sharing your results via e-mail or text message.
While we think the concept is fun, this seems like the kind of app you'd use a lot the first week or so you downloaded it but then might not open for a while. Also, the publisher doesn't list a Web site or any contact information in case you run into problems. Still, the app is free and very easy to use once you get the hang of it.
