Create a family DVD

Mac DVD Creator HD for Mac is a feature-rich application that aims to replace iDVD in creating awesome DVDs readable by all players. However, the app's nice theoretical editing features and support for a wide variety of video formats can't counterbalance the trial version's stability issues and limitations; all the editing features are missing, it is limited to only converting 5 minutes of each file, and it only converts half of the file if it is shorter than 5 minutes.

If you are looking for a Nero-like DVD creator for Mac, Mac DVD Creator HD is the app for you. While it has all the controls in sight and is pretty easy to use, the trial version's "unregistered" information is annoying as it locks most of the great features the application provides. With these limitations on, DVD Creator is just like any other app: users can import, remove, and clear video files. The Edit option is there, but it doesn't work, despite our several attempts at it. In addition, after we added the videos we wanted to have on DVD and clicked preview, the app crashed several times, creating some difficult minutes while working with the app to finally write the DVD. The app could be a useful tool for family use, as the burning session was seamless, even considering that it only converted 5 minutes of video.

Overall, Mac DVD Creator for Mac HD could be a useful app if you are willing to pay out some real cash to unlock it -- so that it actually works.
