Pull up coupons on your Android

The Coupons App for Android is a bit like an inelegantly designed Swiss Army knife for bargain-shopping.

The Coupons App for Android is a bit like an inelegantly designed Swiss Army knife for bargain-shopping. It serves up location-relevant coupons, sniffs out the lowest gas prices in your area, and even helps you compare products with its built-in bar-code scanner.

Usability is certainly not this app's strong point, but once you have it figured out, it works well enough. Swipe left and right through different filters including Food, Stores, and Gas, then once a filter is loaded, swipe up and down to see the deals. If you find a deal you like, tap it to open up the retailer's nearby locations as well as a few options like Share or Save to Favorites. Tap the hyperlinked text within the deal to bring up your browser and the coupon itself, ready to print or use.

Aside from the unintuitive navigation, another problem we found was the persistent pop-up ad asking us to opt into daily e-mail offers. Even after we gave in and signed up, we continued to see the pop-up, which was annoying, to say the least.

Overall, we think The Coupons App for Android is a useful tool. Its interface may be confusing and unattractive, but there's no question the app delivers on its promise to serve up coupons and discounts in your area.
