RedCrab is a calculator with a twist

Solve complex math problems with this scientific calculator.

Have you ever used a calculator to solve an algebraic expression or a complex math formula? It is possible but it would require translating the expression into a series of commands that the calculator can interpret. RedCrab from RedChilliCrab is free software that hopes to eliminate that laborious step entirely by allowing you to input the mathematical expression directly.

RedCrab is a portable tool that can be used immediately after extraction. The plain interface isn't much to look at, but it did prove fairly easy to use. For the most part, it operates like a typical calculator. It accepts algebraic equations, fractions, square roots, log functions, and trigonometric functions, and is capable of supporting basic, scientific, programmer, and statistical calculations. Simple buttons allow quick access to typical calculator functions such as sine and cosine and a large entry field allows you to input the digits and symbols in three ways: via keyboard, the Function Panel, or the virtual keyboard. A Help file is available for the more-advanced features and functionality, but this calculator is geared toward those with some knowledge of mathematic equations.

RedCrab, which is also capable of creating charts and printing the calculations, is a free tool that takes the built-in Windows calculator one step further by allowing direct entry of equations. The application installs and uninstalls cleanly.
