A good contacts manager is a necessity, whether it takes the form of a little black book or a computer program. SSuite Office - Address Book Pro Portable is a basic program that can keep track of addresses, phone numbers, and other important information. It's definitely not the most full-featured program of this sort, but it gets high marks for portability and ease of use.
The program has a commonsense interface, with buttons for adding, editing, deleting, and printing contacts on the left side of the home screen. This screen also displays your contacts in a list with names and e-mail addresses. Double-clicking on a contact lets users view or edit its contents. There are the typical information fields--name, address, phone number, e-mail, and so on--as well as space for notes, Web addresses, and images. New contacts can be imported from CSV files, and users can export their contacts as either CSV or XML files. A small tutorial offers an overview of the program's features. That's really the extent of what Address Book Pro Portable does; there's no way to assign contacts to different groups or otherwise organize them, although there is a search feature that lets users locate contacts by first or last name. The program definitely doesn't have much in the way of bells and whistles, but for a straightforward, easy-to-use contact manager, it fits the bill. The fact that the program is only 1.8MB means that it can live comfortably on your USB drive, too.
