It's not always easy to keep up with the activities of everyone in the household, and traditional calendars can quickly become cluttered and hard to read when multiple people are using them to manage their schedules. Activity Scheduler 2008 is a basic program that lets users create and view calendars for multiple people or purposes. It's nothing fancy, but it might be just what you need to keep track of all your goings-on.
The program's interface is plain and easy to navigate. The bulk of it is taken up by the calendar itself, which can be viewed either by month or by week. Each month is decorated with seasonal or holiday-related clip art, but this can be customized or removed entirely. Creating new calendar items is a simple process, and users can assign colors and clip art-style icons to events to make them easily identifiable. Activity Scheduler's most notable feature is its ability to create different calendars; each member of the family can have her or his own calendar, or you can create separate calendars for birthdays, bills, lessons, and so on. A set of check boxes along the bottom of the program's interface lets users easily select which combination of calendars they want to view. Activity Scheduler also makes it easy to export calendars as HTML, a variety of image file types, and XML files. A built-in Help file gives an adequate overview of the program's features. Overall, we liked Activity Scheduler 2008 just fine. We have trouble making a strong argument for it when there are services like Google Calendar that allow calendar access from anywhere you have an Internet connection, but Activity Scheduler is a fine choice if that's not a feature you need.
Activity Scheduler 2008 installs and uninstalls without issues. We recommend this program to all users.
