More than just your basic notepad, the ColorNote app for Android takes your jotting to another level. You can set it to launch either to the default Workspace screen, where you create and organize notes, or the Calendar screen, where you keep track of any ColorNote notifications. Then, once you're done scrawling away, you can share your notes via any of your device's installed applications (Twitter, Facebook, SMS, Gmail, and so on).
When creating a note, you can choose from two styles: Text, for most uses, or Checklist, for bullet-style entries that can be checked off. Change the color of notes to help keep them organized, and if your notes are piling up, sort them by modified time, by created time, alphabetically, by color, or by reminder time. To keep notes extra secure, you can password-protect them individually, and even backup to SD card to prevent any permanent loss.
The other half of ColorNote's functionality lies in its calendar and reminder system. You can add a reminder alarm to any note, and set it to repeat with a desired frequency. The calendar will display any scheduled reminders. If you need a constant reminder of a note, you can either pin it to your Android notification bar, or create a widget for it on your Home screen.
Overall, ColorNote seems to be a stable and powerful app, with all the necessary note-taking basics, plus an integrated calendar for those who frequently use reminders with notes. We highly recommend the download.
