Ever wonder what your hypothetical children would look like with your significant other or your favorite celebrity? Or what the product of a union between your dog and cat would produce? Morpheus Photo Mixer is a simple program that allows users to merge two separate images into one, with interesting and sometimes hilarious results.
The program's interface is plain and intuitive. Users simply load the two images they want to work with and then start aligning the desired features, using the real-time preview as a guide. The alignment process is a matter of surrounding the desired characteristics with dots on both images. For example, you would click on the left eye of the person in the first image, and dots with corresponding colors would appear on the second image. Aligning the respective eyes is simply a matter of dragging the dots on the second image to match up with those in the first: a pink one in the outside corner, a yellow one on the inside corner, and so on. The more dots you use, the better the results. Users will want to take care to start with images that have neutral backgrounds; the program doesn't seem to have a way to edit backgrounds, which can create a cluttered mess behind an otherwise good-looking image. The program's built-in Help file gives a good overview of the included features. Overall, Morpheus Photo Mixer didn't create merged images of spectacular quality, but it was fun to play around with and easy enough to use.
Morpheus Photo Mixer is free to try, but the trial version has a nag screen. The program installs a desktop icon without asking but uninstalls cleanly. We recommend this program to all users.
