Fashion forward or fashion victim?

Help Cher and her friends get dressed in this fun movie spin-off.

We have to say up front that any game that rewards players for dressing their characters in ways that most please the characters' boyfriends makes us throw up a little. But if that's the kind of thing you're into, Clueless, which is based on the 1995 movie of the same name, is a fun way to test your fashion sense.

The premise of the game is that Cher and her friends must be dressed in outfits that typify specific styles; the more elements of a particular style are included in an outfit, the better the outfit's grade. For example, users may be told to dress a character in Beverly Hills Preppy, which incorporates plaids, sequins, buckles, and lace. Users choose a top, bottom, and shoes, and get extra points for creating outfits quickly and incorporating elements that are favored by each character's boyfriend. The actual gameplay is like an electronic version of paper dolls, with users dragging and dropping items of clothing onto each character to create the perfect look. The game is punctuated by "Clueless"-style comments from characters, which can be cute or annoying, depending on how you feel about the original movie. Overall, we found the game to be pretty entertaining, and fans of the movie--especially younger fans--should enjoy following the fashion rules to advance through the game.

Clueless is free to try, but the trial version limits users to two styles and one level. The program installs a desktop icon without asking and leaves a Start menu item and folder behind upon removal. We recommend this game to all users.
