SonicPics is a handy app for creating video slideshows with audio narration using your camera or photos already on your device.
Designed around a simple idea with a wide range of uses (from travelogues to presentations to real-estate walk-throughs), SonicPics has a reassuringly clean and smooth interface. You use a two-button toolbar to work with either Projects or Recordings, which are saved M4V files of finished projects. With Projects, you just type in a title and description, add in photos, using your camera or existing photos, and then set the audio recording quality--which will affect the final size of your video. You can then record your audio, up to 60 minutes, flipping through pictures as you narrate, and it's easy to pause, resume, and end recording. Once you're finished, you can save the project as a recording, and from the Recordings tab you can delete or share recordings, with options to e-mail your video, upload it to YouTube, or share it with your computer over Wi-Fi--for this last option, you're given a URL to type into your browser to download the video.
SonicPics can't do everything--for example, there are no advanced image editing or transition options--but it largely makes up for that with its streamlined interface and quick, intuitive ease-of-use. Anyone who wants a lightweight app for creating ad hoc presentations should check out SonicPics.
