PDF fail

Your grandma can knit a better PDF than this converter can.

We've reviewed a lot of PDF converters, and most of them are pretty unremarkable. They work well enough and most aren't terribly thrilling or entirely disappointing. Every once in a while, however, we encounter a PDF converter that's really in a class by itself. EZ Word to Pdf Converter Free is one such program. We're not sure we've ever seen a PDF converter that's so abjectly bad.

For starters, it closes any open Office documents, without warning. We found this out the hard way when we tested the program, wrote part of this review, and then went back to test the program some more, only to find that the Word document we'd been working on had been closed without being saved. We were peppered with mysterious error messages and alerts that only vaguely resembled English. "When converting the input file to the default format PDF, Select the path of saving PDF file by manual from the pop-up save as dialog box later on." Seriously? Worst of all, the program barely works. We waited as the "Converting" dialogue went on and on, for many long minutes, unchanging, with no notifications. We canceled the conversions and got a message telling us that they hadn't been completed, only to find the finished documents in the specified destination folders. Time wasted? Priceless.

EZ Word to Pdf Converter Free is free to try, but it puts a watermark on its output. It installs and uninstalls without issues, but that's about all the good that can be said for it.
