Buggy video converter

Prepare for frustration with this cranky converter.

There are a lot of video file converters out there, and most of them are quite similar, allowing users to convert videos between different file formats. Unfortunately, the only thing that sets Leap Free All to AVI MPEG4 WMV MOV FLASH Converter apart from the competition is the fact that it doesn't work very well.

We had high hopes when we first opened the program. The interface is clean and intuitive, with large graphical buttons. We were excited to see that the program also includes a YouTube downloader, and we decided to try that first. We were disappointed to find that no matter which video's URL we entered, the program came back with an error message stating that there was no video on the page. Next we decided to convert an MPG to a WMV file. When we played the resulting file it contained only a small fraction of the original. This is a common limitation in trial versions of converter programs, but we saw no indication that that was the case here, and when we converted between some other formats the program worked fine. The program's online Help file answers some basic questions but isn't particularly helpful. Overall, we were not impressed with this program; it didn't offer anything in the way of features that we hadn't seen many times before, and even these basic features failed to work consistently.

Leap Free All to AVI MPEG4 WMV MOV FLASH Converter is free, but the program nags users to register to gain access to more features. The program installs politely but leaves a folder behind upon removal. We do not recommend this program.
