TV and lots of it

Access TV from around the world with this well-designed program.

The Internet is awash in video content, both the kind that originates on TV and the kind only intended for online viewing. The amount of content available on the Web makes the hundreds of cable TV channels we've all come to expect look like a drop in the entertainment bucket. Free Online TV Player is an easy way to access streaming video in a variety of genres from around the world.

The program's interface is sleek and attractive, one of the best-looking programs of this sort that we've seen. The available channels are arranged by genre, country, and popularity, and users can also designate channels as their favorites for easy access later. It's always the case with online TV viewers that not all of the channels work; some streams aren't available 24 hours a day, while others simply encounter technical difficulties. We found Free Online TV Player to be somewhat above average where this is concerned, with the majority of the channels we tried working just fine. We were most impressed by the number of popular cable channels that provided live streaming content, including Comedy Central, MSNBC, the Discovery Channel, and TLC. The program's online Help file was well-written and contained plenty of screenshots, although we were annoyed that it opened in Internet Explorer instead of our default browser. Overall, we found Free Online TV Player to be above average in terms of both its design and the quality of its content.

Free Online TV Player is free. The program installs and uninstalls without issues. We recommend this program to all users.
