Yours for a song

Convert videos to MP3s with this easy-to-use program.

Polaris Free Video to MP3 Converter is an extremely easy-to-use program that allows users to convert a wide variety of video formats into MP3 audio files. It doesn't have much in the way of features, but for a lightweight file converter, we think it's a great choice.

The program's interface is plain and intuitive, with three large buttons that represent the program's features. Users simply select the video file or files that they want to convert, choose the desired output quality (there are 14 options, from 32k to 320k), and select an output folder. The program quickly converts the files and saves them in the specified location. And that's really the extent of it. The program has no other features, and although there's a Help menu item, there doesn't seem to be a Help file. We can't say that we missed it, though, given the program's paucity of features. We were happy to see that the program supports the conversion of a variety of video file types, including MPG, FLV, MOV, WMV, and several others, but on the whole, the program is quite basic and is designed to do only one thing. For some users this may be all they need, but others may find themselves wishing for a more full-featured program with multiple conversion options. Users who are primarily interested in pulling songs out of music videos, for example, should be quite happy with this application.

Polaris Free Video to MP3 Converter is free. The program installs and uninstalls without issues. We recommend this program to all users.
