Basic converter

Convert and extract audio files with this no-frills program.

Aglare All to MP3 AAC AC3 AMR Converter is a simple program that allows users to convert audio and video files to a variety of different audio formats. Although there was nothing about the program that particularly impressed us, we found it to be easy to use and effective.

The program's interface is basic, with all of its features contained on a single screen. Users simply choose the file or files they want to convert, select the output format from among five options, optionally select the desired quality of the output, and click Convert. The program quickly converts files and saves them to the selected destination folder. The only thing about the program that really sets it apart from other audio converters is that it can not only convert between audio files but also extract audio tracks from videos. We tried this with a small MPEG and found that the program easily stripped the audio track and saved it as a good-quality MP3. The program's name would suggest that it is able to handle video files of all types, but we're not sure about this, and the program doesn't have a Help file to specify. (A Help menu item, yes. An actual Help file, no. Thanks, Aglare.) Overall, the program didn't exactly knock our socks off, and we would have liked to have seen some documentation, but it does work well enough for what it is.

Aglare All to MP3 AAC AC3 AMR Converter is free to try, but the trial version only converts the first three minutes of a given file. The program installs politely but leaves a folder behind upon removal. We recommend this program to all users.
