Schedule Crew Assignments for 100 People is a set of Excel spreadsheets that allow users to organize up to 100 employees into work crews for up to 10 jobs. Although the program isn't bad for what it is, users should be aware that it is really just an Excel file, not a separate application.
The program's functions are separated into different spreadsheets within an Excel workbook. There are spreadsheets for employee contact information, a list of jobs, a detailed page for each job, and several schedule views. Users enter employee information including their skills and skill level. Users can then use drop-down menus to schedule for each job. For example, select "Carpenter" and "Foremen," and the options in the employee drop-down menu will show only the employees who meet that criteria (and who aren't on vacation). Because the bulk of the program's functions require users to simply enter information into the spreadsheet, it is fairly intuitive and easy to use, although some pages were a bit cluttered-looking. The program includes a Help file that does a good job of explaining its functions. Overall, although the program is not fancy, it does contain helpful, easy-to-use-features, and is an effective way to manage crews for multiple jobs.
The trial version of the program restricts the dates users can choose for scheduling. The program comes as a ZIP file and runs after extraction with no need for installation. We recommend this program to all users.
