If your in-box is burdened by too many e-mails, then lighten its load with this handy archiving add-on for Outlook.
Genie Archive for Outlook eases the configuration process by automatically launching a set-up wizard after installation is complete. The wizard leads the user through the simple step-by-step process of tweaking the tool to suit the user's needs, then closes and displays the Genie Archive for Outlook toolbar under Outlook's default toolbar. It steals some real estate, but the toolbar isn't cluttered, and its few buttons are essential items. This package performed very nicely during our tests. We liked that we could choose to operate the archive function with or without encryption, and that either way we could help secure the archive with password protection. Selecting which folders to archive--all or some--was a snap. Automatically managing spam was a great feature that worked very well. The toolbar was very handy for accessing options or activating archiving on the fly. Retrieving archived messages also was simple, because we could search archives by phrase or date, sort our search results by relevance or date, or narrow the search results by employing the tool's filtering feature. Response was quick in all instances.
Any user having difficulties will find that the online demos provide great real-time tutorials; but all the Genie's features are very user-friendly and intuitively designed. The trial period should be sufficient for anyone to determine the add-on's suitability for use, although the price may steer away some customers.
