Beauty is skin deep

Don't expect tons of features with this wallpaper changer.

Dream Wallpaper is a wallpaper changer that allows users to select from both wallpapers that come with the program and that can be downloaded from the publisher's Web site. Although the interface and wallpapers are nice, this program is missing some basic features that users may expect of a wallpaper changer.

The program's interface is sleek and very attractive; it integrates well with later versions of Windows. Users have access to a handful of sample wallpapers in both normal and wide-screen formats that are arranged in themes (nature, holidays, etc.), and many more are available for download. Downloading additional wallpapers through the program is easy, and most of the available wallpapers are high quality. We were quite satisfied with both the program's interface and selection, although the program loses points for not having a Help file. What really disappointed us about Dream Wallpaper was its lack of options that are pretty standard on most wallpaper changers. Users cannot specify when the wallpaper changes, other than to indicate either once a day or when Windows starts up. Additionally, although users can add their own images to the program one at a time, there's no way to point the program to a specific folder on the user's computer and have those images used as wallpaper. These features are fairly common for this sort of program, and users who are expecting them will be disappointed. Otherwise, however, the program is lovely.

Dream Wallpaper is free. It installs without issues but leaves a folder behind upon removal. We recommend this program to all users.
