Intuitive math practice

Improve your basic math skills with this kid-friendly program.

UberSmart Math Basics allows users to practice their math skills using a flash-card-style activity and to test themselves on what they've learned. The program's options and layout make it a great choice for kids who are working on their math skills.

The program's interface is simple and attractive, with all of its features easily accessed. Users can view flashcards for addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, all organized in number sets from 0 through 12. Users click through the flashcards at their own speed, coming up with the answer in their minds and then checking against the flashcard. This is an especially effective way to learn the times tables which, as I'm sure we all remember, are only learned through lots and lots of memorization. In addition to the flashcard feature, users can test their math skills and track their scores. The tests can optionally be timed. Our only complaint is that each of the four operations must be tested separately; it would have been nice for older children to be able to mix up their problem types. Still, the tests are another valuable practice tool, and the ability to track scores for multiple users allows kids to compete against each other and their old scores. The program's Help file, which comes as a PDF, is well-written and informative.

UberSmart Math Basics has a 30-day trial period. It installs and uninstalls without issues. We recommend this program to all users looking for a simple, kid-friendly way to practice basic math skills.
