BG Changer allows users to automatically change their desktop wallpaper. Although the program works, there are many similar programs that have more features; this one struck us as just a little too basic.
The program's interface is not particularly intuitive, just a small gray box with a few buttons. Not sure what to do at first, we clicked Start. Wrong choice! This button apparently starts the changing of the images, and since we hadn't selected any yet, the program freaked out, displaying error message after error message until we quit it. We re-opened the program and started again. The Options button allowed us to choose a folder full of images to use. Unlike many programs that allow background changes in increments of seconds, the minimum time period BG Changer supports is 5 minutes. Users can have the program randomize the images and start with Windows, but that's the extent of the features. We clicked Start again and, as promised, the program changed our background every 5 minutes. The program has no Help file, which normally wouldn't matter in a program of such limited features, but the unintuitive interface makes this a drawback.
BG Changer has a 15-day trial period, which is plenty of time for evaluation. It installs and uninstalls without issues. We recommend this program with reservations; it does what it's supposed to, but there are many similar programs out there with more features.
