Race down a waterslide

Waterslide Extreme is a free arcade racing game sponsored by the British credit-card company Barclaycard, based on one of their TV commercials in which a waterslide weaves between the buildings of a city. The interface of Waterslide Extreme is intuitive and easy: you steer by tilting your device left and right, and you can slow down by either pressing a touch-screen brake button or tilting your device back (with options for calibrating and adjusting accelerometer sensitivity). You can choose a male or female avatar, with first- or third-person view, as you slide down nine separate levels, collecting power-ups and point-award diamonds while avoiding crabs and devilish rubber ducks that slow you down.

Survival is relatively easy, but the real challenge in Waterslide Extreme is clocking the best time possible while also collecting the most diamonds--and a high-score board keeps track of both. With a little effort, Waterslide Extreme could have been much better, with more variety in the game's levels and better replay value (currently, you can only play the game straight through, which makes learning a particular level more difficult). Overall, though, for a free game Waterslide Extreme offers some fun, light gameplay with thankfully unobtrusive advertising (just a single logo on the game's start-up screen).
