Euro Calculator is a fast currency calculator that doesn't really separate itself from the myriad free online calculators. The program does its job well, but we were left wondering why users should choose it.

The program's interface will be fairly familiar to anyone who's used a computer calculator before. The program is organized the same, but with two data lines. Changing currencies takes a little experimentation or a brief trip to the Help file, but not too much work. Users simply input an amount of euros in the main data line or enter a math equation, then hit the conversion button. Answers are provided instantly. Users have a wide selection of currencies choices in the menu and can also update the conversion rates from the menu. Aside from doubling as a calculator, we didn't see much of a difference between this model and the number of free converters online. Also, we were unable to utilize the spreadsheet interface. The program's best feature was its different skins. We weren't expecting much, but found the various calculator skins to be a great way to customize usage. While some look like a simple calculator, others have national flags you can click for easy currency changes.

While we liked the currency flags, it was not enough to make this program much better than free online models. Still, this trial (free in its basic form, but a 30-day limit on the professional features) is a fine choice for anyone disappointed with those online converters.
