HomeGallery is an easy-to-use wallpaper changer that lets users edit and organize their images within an attractive and intuitive layout.
The program's interface is exceptional, with a sleek and professional-looking design. The fact that it consists of three separate windows can be a bit annoying, but we were willing to ignore that because it was so nice to look at. One small window contains controls for the changer--play, fast forward, and so no--and also gives access to the program's settings. Another window provides a cool-looking filmstrip-style display of the user's images across the top of the screen. The third window displays each image on a realistic-looking easel. Here, users can make basic edits to each image, such as rotation, brightness and contrast, and a handful of special effects. The online Help file includes well-written instructions for those who need them, but the program is very easy to use. All we had to do was select the folder of images that we wanted to use on our computer, and HomeGallery took care of the rest. We were disappointed, however, that playing music along with the images is so difficult; users have to rename each music file to match the name of an image. We would have liked the capability to just select a group of songs and have them play along with the wallpaper.
HomeGallery has a 30-day trial period, which should be plenty of time for users to evaluate it. It installs without issues but does leave a folder behind upon removal. We recommend this program to all users.
