CHM2PDF Pilot aims to help users convert pesky .chm files into the more easily read .pdf format. While we would have liked to see it convert faster, we could not argue with its focused functionality.
The program has a very simple interface, focused around its basic black and white screen. Users will not be overwhelmed, since there are only a few command buttons and each is fairly self-explanatory, though there is a Help file available for anyone with a question. The program functions smoothly and simply, which every user will appreciate. Going into a simple file tree gives users an opportunity to choose the problematic .chm file they want to view. From there, users select what folder they would like to see the new .pdf file moved into. Finally, users simply click a conversion button and the task is done. Be aware, though, that larger conversions will take several minutes. Our test conversion actually took about 10 minutes from start to finish. The program is light on special features, though its ability to customize the .pdf was excellent. Picture quality, margins, authorship, and more are only a few mouse clicks away using this feature.
The 30-day trial period is more than enough time to learn the ins and outs of the program. While we would have liked the program to convert our files faster, CHM2PDF Pilots is a good option for users in need of a converter.
