Bare-bones browser

Skip this faulty Web browser.

The publisher of this free Web browser touts the numerous tools that have supposedly been packed into it. But after giving it a run-through, we were left wondering what the fuss is about.

MyWeb Final has an extremely bland user interface. It includes a URL field, plain navigational buttons, and buttons for adding sites to your favorites list. Though it claims to work with your current browser, it failed to import any of our bookmarks, and a blank page appeared when we clicked on the View Favs button. The Add to Favs button did add new URLs to our favorites list, but we would have liked the ability to quickly import them from other browsers. The Create Shortcuts feature produced an error message when we tried to access, so it was impossible to tell what, exactly, it was supposed to do. The Settings menu also produced the same error message, so it was hard to tell if the program offered any kind of browser configurations.

A Help file isn't included with MyWeb Final, so you're on your own in figuring it out. That, coupled with its boring interface and lackluster performance, leaves much to be desired. A new version is available for download from the publisher, and we can only hope they've completely overhauled the program. As it is, there's no compelling reason to switch from your current browser.
