LimeWire has spent a long time at the top of our Most Popular list for good reason--it's easy to use and gets the results people want. Though there is a certain amount of controversy surrounding file sharing, there are plenty of legal files that you can get through LimeWire. Once downloaded, you can even preview audio files with LimeWire's included media player.

Check out this First Look with Jason Parker from Download.com to get the lowdown on this extremely popular app for Mac.

Jason Parker writes software reviews and features for Windows, Mac, and iPhone. If he learned to dance, it would make him a fabled "quadruple threat," but we can't get him to do it.

You forgot to mention this is 100% illegal and by simply reading this article Time Warner Cable could have me arrested and charged with a billion dollar fine. Shame on CNET. Isn't CNET and Download.com owned by CBS? So CBS Viacom is hereby endorsing an illegal download program. Awful entrapment scam. I feel sorry for all these poor people who will read this article and download episodes of CSI Miami and get life in prison all from this entrapment article. Death to CBS. F--- that **** Katie Couric too.

OK, wait a second. I know this is partly joking, but before you scare everyone off, LimeWire has perfectly legitimate uses and enables users to share large files by splitting them up into pieces. The program isn't--by itself--illegal, but it is true it can be used illegally.

I ask you this BobSaget911: Do programs download files or do people download files?
