Featured Freeware: RocketDock

Where most other docks fail, RocketDock soars. The Mac-style program dock and launcher for Windows 2000, XP, and Vista has it all, from a smooth installation to flawless icon transitions and an unobtrusive footprint.

The app is loaded with options. The dock can live on any of the four edges of your monitor, as well as autohide or be ever-present. It comes with more than 20 skins, and fonts and colors are fully customizable, as is the icon order. Program icons are customizable, too. The program publisher is also growing a community around the program, and the app's Web site has areas where you can download more icons, widgets, and skins to enhance and further customize your experience.

One drawback of the program is that the main settings menu is not where you go to add in and configure these extras. Instead, they're accessible from a secondary settings menu available only by right-clicking on the dock itself. It's frustrating, but not a major problem, and hopefully can be addressed in future updates.

Seth peers into the deep, dark corners of software so that you don't have to. He has yet to suffer a single nightmare about OS/2. You can follow him on Twitter.

You might try STARDOCKS latest version of their extremely popular OBJECTDOCK PLUS.
(yes, a paid version)

I comes with flyout menus to handle an unlimited number items/links/icons. not to mention the large number of recolor able backgrounds and icons found at WINCUSTOMIZE.

OD+ covers just about every imaginable customization possibility you could want.

Really nice app. Easy to use and customize ( Check their website for atutorial) . Once you use it, you will get addicted to it.
Two recommendations:
1.- Don't install it in the programs folder, do it in the documents folder. Why ? see # 2 bellow!

2.- Get the Stacks docklet, it will boost the usefulness of the dock and will allowed you to open apps. from the dock - only if the dock is NOT installed in Programs folder. You can get it here http://rocketdock.com/addons/docklets/1791

My associates and I have used this program for over a year now and I think it has never crashed... it uses less power than other dock program's and it is super smooth.
Even on pc's with low RAM it can still function hassle free.
I still cant beleive its free......
