Clean your Internet tracks with Ad-Aware 2007
The free spyware-removal software Ad-Aware 2007 helps protect your system from browser hijackers, data miners, and other malware, but it can also wipe your Web surfing tracks for Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, and Opera with just one click. Rich DeMuro shows you how it's done.

I have used Ad-Aware SE Personal for years NEVER have I had any problems. First rate product. That is why when 2007 came out the first thing I did was load it on to not only my computer but to my wife's computer. It worked fine for a three or four days, then all heck broke loose. Error messages, computer totally freezing up at the time it seemed like everything that could go wrong did. When I removed 2007 and went back to Ad-Aware SE PERSONAL everything was GREAT again.
GUYS, I AM SORRY, but this needs to go back into BETA for a while. In MY OPINION it has too many glitches right now.
KNOWING LAVA-SOFT I am sure it will not be long before they once again have a SUPER product that I tell everyone I know is the BEST. But right now, get out the can of Raid, you need to kill a bunch of bugs.
LAVASOFT THANK YOU for years of making SUPER products!
Perhaps the program uses more resources due to its interface. Or maybe you're using a DIFFERENT version of Windows (maybe an earlier version like Windows 2000 or 98.) If that's the case, you can either keep to the SE (or earlier) version of Ad-Aware, or get a new computer (if you want).
For Vista users, rest assured that you don't have to wait any longer as this is the month where the Vista-compatible version of Ad-Aware 2007 will be available!
And for those that say the scan results and detection rates are all the same, I don't think so. the software is integrated to have better detection capabilities, and at least the tracking cookies are categorized in the search results as another category.
That's all I have to say for now. It's not as bad as some have imagined, after all.
I would like to try using this new release but can't as it will not run on Vista.
Oh well, there are better products out there anyways.
I downloaded the Ad-Aware 2007 on my new Windows Vista computer and it worked fine for a couple of months, but now when I scan, it normally finds about 400 or so adware but will only remove a portion of them and then gives me an error message. I'm going to delete this from my computer and then redownload the old version if I can. I loved the old version.
Well, it's absolutely frustrating to discover after downloading "THE FREE" version of ad-aware 2007 that there were options disabled!!!! This is in my view a kind of misleading or perhaps an act of deliberate deception!!!! Sorry folks, but it looked like it! Why did you release it as a free version since it actually isn't!??? Besides, I got really confused, not knowing how to deal with it though the tips simply because I'm an ordinary user, a house wife who happened to use computers like almost every body else!! Consequently, I had to uninstall it despite my desperate and insistent need to such software! I was like yaaay, when I found this msg in my inbox cos I've been trying to seek assistance from CNET.com Help/Faq, but it was just more daze in a maze! SO, I GIVE UP, unless I get a real clear and easy alternative solution? would you?
PS: The tape was ok but the sound was breaking I wonder why?
At first I feared a virus or macro but realized it was simply just an error from the update. In addition to this box, when I moved my mouse pointer, it jumped and kind of acted sluggish. It took using control, alt delete to end ad aware. Even then I had to restart my computer. This problem only arises when I click the update button but I suppose I haven't tested it to see if it does it any other time.
I have checked the website for information on this and there is nothing to explain why this is happening. For now I guess I cannot update.
