Sony to debut original TV show 'Powers' for PlayStation

Sony has been talking television over the last year and now it's becoming more clear what the company had it mind. According to The Wall Street Journal, Sony is working on an original TV show called "Powers" that will be available on its PlayStation game console.

"It's about having a broad range of broadcast content to replicate the live TV experience," president and group CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment Andrew House told the Journal.

Troubleshooting service Fixya has released a new report on the issues affecting today's latest game consoles, and the results aren't pretty.

Fixya combed through 40,000 troubleshooting requests shared on its Web site and found that 35 percent of Wii U owners complain of freezing problems, while others are looking for fixes to the GamePad. Another 15 percent of Wii U owners report issues with the console's Internet connection.

Xbox One almost catches PlayStation 4 in February

After reporting no sales figures in January, Microsoft is trumpeting its February numbers after a market researcher showed it gaining on Sony's PlayStation 4 in the U.S.

Though the PlayStation 4 (PS4) led hardware sales in February, it was only "by a narrow margin," according to the NPD Group, as reported by Bloomberg.

HBO Go lands on PS3

HBO Go, the network's streaming service, will be available on PlayStation 3 later today through a free app, Sony has announced on the PlayStation Blog. Sony is working "diligently" with HBO to get the PlayStation 4 version ready, PlayStation executive Phil Rosenberg said, but there's no release date yet for it.

The HBO Go app, about which CNET earlier reported, will be free to download on PS3 and PS4, but you'll need an HBO subscription from your cable or satellite provider to access on-demand content like episodes of Game of Thrones or True Detective.

Sony PlayStation 4 racks up 6 million sales

Sales of Sony's PlayStation 4 have surpassed the 6 million mark after less than four months, according to Sony.

Revealing the latest stats on Tuesday, Sony said that customers have purchased more than 6 million PS4 units globally as of Sunday. That number includes the 370,000 units sold in Japan since the console launched there on February 22.
