HTC Sense 6 interface appears in video leak

With roughly one week until HTC formally unwraps its next-gen the new HTC One, more details on the smartphone have leaked.

This time, instead of dealing with hardware details, the leak du jour focuses on the software experience. More specifically, we're looking at the Sense 6.0 custom interface.

A video which surfaced today (embedded above) shows a redesigned interface featuring a stripped-down approach, with "flat" icons and a new design language.

What's more, Sense 6.0 could include motion gesture controls for launching apps, as well as other shortcut functions. Assuming the video is correct, … Read more

Bluetooth game controller said to be for Amazon set-top box

Amazon's streaming set-top box could feature a game controller, according to a new report.

Amazon has reportedly been planning to launch a set-top box for the last several months. More evidence to that effect cropped up on Friday in Brazil where an FCC-like government agency revealed images of an Amazon game controller. That listing, discovered by Zatz Not Funny, shows an all-black controller feature four actions buttons, two thumbsticks, and both triggers and bumper buttons. The controller also includes a directional pad and connect via Bluetooth.

Amazon was reportedly planning to launch a set-top box last fall, but backed … Read more

LG's upcoming G3 could have a 2K display

Slowly but surely, pieces of the LG G3 puzzle seem to be falling into place. Rumors point to a May debut for the device, which means that the pace of rumors should quicken over the next few weeks.

A user agent profile spotted on LG's Web site by frequent Twitter tipster @evleaks suggests that the handset-maker has a D850 model in the works. Considering that the LG D800 is the model number for the current G2 flagship, it's logical that the D850 here would be its eventual successor.

The XML document also reveals the screen display. Listed at … Read more

LG G3 could be dustproof and water resistant, report indicates

LG's successor to the G2 could be both water resistant and dust-proof, according to Korea's ETNews.

Presumably, the handset will be known as the G3 and will make its debut in the second half of the year. Hardware specifications are a bit muddy at this point, but the rumor is already churning. Early chatter suggests a Quad HD (1,440x2,560 pixels) display, a 64-bit processor, and a 16-megapixel rear camera may be in order for the smartphone.

Looking ahead, I'd anticipate more handset manufacturers to adopt water resistance and dust proof capabilities. Sony, for example, has … Read more
