Real Racing 3 review

Real Racing 3 is a fast-paced game that puts you in the driver's seat of some impressive vehicles and lets you race other players. As you develop your skills in the racing world, you'll unlock better and better cars and compete on more and more challenging courses.

Pros

Customizable controls: In this game, you can have as much or as little control over your vehicle as you'd like. To begin with, you'll have automatic acceleration and brake assist turned on as you get used to the other controls. But if you want a more authentic racing … Read more

GT Racing 2: The Real Car Exp review

Gameloft's GT Racing 2: The Real Car Exp is one of the most realistic racing experiences you can get in Android, free or not (it's free, with in-app purchases). It starts with super-realistic 3D renditions of actual cars and racing venues. Sensitive controls let you hone your driving skills and really push it. Yes, we crashed a lot at first, mostly by going too fast, but that's part of the fun.

Pros

Everything but the g's: GT Racing 2 has everything but g-forces and that new car smell. It's as close as many will come … Read more

Star Apps: Phil Keoghan from 'The Amazing Race'

Phil Keoghan has always looked outward to new adventures in foreign lands. The Emmy-award-winning producer and host of CBS's "The Amazing Race" credits this to growing up on an island nation, New Zealand. He became a world traveler who shares his passion for globetrotting through "The Amazing Race." I chatted with Keoghan about the upcoming "Amazing Race: All-Stars" finale on May 18, the secrets to winning the highly competitive show, his favorite and least favorite contestants of all time, learning to seize life by the horns, and his favorite apps.

Racing Rivals is a game that lets you test your skills at drag racing and outfit your own car to try and get the maximum advantage on the street. The graphics in this game will make you feel like you're really out there with the characters, and the variety of ways to compete means you'll never be bored as you work your way up to the top of the street racing world.

Racing Car review

Despite its somewhat misleading title, Racing Car isn't a game but a collection of 18 digitally enhanced wallpapers featuring spectacular cars like Porsche, Ferrari, and Lamborghini. Apart from the included images, the app also provides quick access to wallpapers from other categories provided by the developer, including Animal, Flowers, and Fantasy. The only inconvenience of using this app is the occasional fullscreen ad.

Racing Car installs quickly, and then presents you with a gallery of sleek sport cars. Setting any one of them as your new wallpaper takes only two taps. A nice touch is the Portrait or Landscape … Read more

Get a smartphone-controlled RC race car for $39.99

I've never met a kid who didn't love radio-controlled cars, and I know plenty of adults who dig 'em as well.

For a limited time, and while supplies last, StackSocial has the Griffin Moto TC Rally RC car for $39.99, shipped. It normally sells for $99.99, and the best price I've seen elsewhere is around $60.

First things first: This is no wimpy little racer. The Moto TC Rally measures around 10 inches long and sits on big rubber tires atop an independent shock-absorbing suspension. It's far more substantial than you'd expect, and … Read more

What if Red Bull's season didn't improve?

As Britain's greatest bard put it; "Now entertain conjecture of a time".

Pre-season testing has not gone well for the Red Bull F1 team. They've started on the back foot (or perhaps hoof in the case of Red Bull, and err, also Ferrari for that matter). The Renault power unit has proved troublesome, and Adrian Newey's tight packaging has simply exacerbated those problems. From this moment on, they are playing catch-up, and, as they say in Formula One "If you are not going forwards then you are.. just plain f*#3d".

Mad Skills Motocross 2 gets better graphics and more challenging gameplay

Mad Skills Motocross 2 (iOS|Android) is the long-awaited sequel to one of my favorite mobile racing games ever, bringing more challenging 2D motocross racing. But this time, you don't have to spend a cent; Mad Skills Motocross 2 is a freemium game, and the in-app purchase model stays out of your way as long as you have "mad skills."

Not for the casual gamer, this racing game is all about precision and going for the perfect run, so if you have the patience, you can beat the game without using any in-app purchases. With that said, … Read more

Review: Hit the track in addictive Fast Racing 3D

Fast Racing 3D gives you all of the options, graphics, and challenging gameplay you could ever ask for in a mobile racing game. It's on par with some of the racing games you'd find for 64-bit consoles that you might have grown up playing. If you'd like a similar experience on your tablet or smartphone, this is the game you want to download.

Fast Racing 3D looks and performs like your standard racer, letting you take on computer opponents as well as time trials. Top performances in these levels earn you cash, which you can spend to … Read more

Top 10 most dangerous race tracks

Motorsport is getting safer and safer but it has and always will have an element of danger to it. Some say that's why both the spectators and the participants love it. Some race tracks have proven to be more dangerous than others though. We've listed the 10 that have claimed the most lives to date.

Imola didn't make this list, incidentally. Although it will always be remembered as the scene of that horrible weekend the sport lost both Roland Ratzenberger and Ayrton Senna it has not claimed nearly as many lives as the rest of this list.… Read more
