Mini Me review

Mini Me is a game that lets you dress and customize your character, and then go visit friends, grow plants, cook tasty treats, and chat. Even if you don't know anyone who plays the game yet, you can visit random other players to make new friends and earn rewards. And since helping benefits everyone, you'll get plenty of help from your fellow players, as well.

The first thing you have to do when you open Mini Me is to create an account. This just requires choosing a username, and then entering your birthday so the game knows which … Read more

MiniTool Partition Wizard 8 Home Edition review

MiniTool Partition Wizard Home Edition 8 adds disk conversion and copying to what was already one of our favorite disk partitioning tools, free or not. It creates, deletes, aligns, moves, resizes, recovers, splits, joins, hides, copies, and converts partitions or entire disks. It can change drive letters, label partitions and volumes, edit properties, and check file systems. It does all that and more for free, though premium upgrades for business environments, servers, and special needs are available.

Pros

Powerful and flexible: MiniTool Partition Wizard has the tools advanced users need to manage all their disk drives. We used the Split … Read more

MiniDashboard for Mac serves as a portal to a variety of mini applications or widgets you can quickly install on your Mac OS X dashboard. These widgets are different from what you can get through the actual Dashboard of your Mac.

The thinnest and lightest small tablets

In the beginning, tablets looked more like the televisions that strap onto the back of a car's seat more than something out of "2001: A Space Odyssey." However, I'm happy to report that the times have changed and so have tablet designs.

After Apple released the iPad (let's give credit where credit is due), aesthetics and design became a more prominent selling-point for the emerging portable devices. Overall, tablet girth has declined, ushering in the new era of thin slates, and we've gathered the ones so sleek, their predecessors wouldn't even recognize them … Read more

Which iPad should you buy?

Want to buy an iPad? Not every one does -- or should (see our Android picks for alternatives) -- but as of this moment, Apple is selling four distinct versions of its tablet. Now that the fourth-gen Retina iPad has replaced the iPad 2 in the roster, which of Apple's tablets is the right one? Which is the best value? What should you do?

Let's take a look at each: there are two iPad Minis, and two larger 9.7-inch iPads. The good news is this is a better selection of iPads than before. But, I also think … Read more

How to list daily events in iOS 7.1 Calendar app

When Apple released iOS 7 late last year, the overhauled user interface included tweaks and changes throughout the entire operating system.

One such change was the removal of the ability to view your daily agenda from the month view in the Calendar app. As it was in iOS 7's month view, you simply saw a dot on each day where something was scheduled. To view the agenda, you had to tap on the day, opening another screen. This lead to a lot of tapping and navigating just to view your agenda for multiple days within a given month.

How to completely turn off parallax wallpapers on iOS 7.1

Apple's iOS 7 launched with a revamped design and new features galore. Not all features were welcomed, with some users pleading for the ability to revert back to iOS 6 or turn off some of the more "annoying" features. One such feature was the motion found throughout iOS 7, including the motion found on wallpaper images across all home screens.

Apple did provide a method for reducing the motion effect, but not a way to disable it across the board. With the release of iOS 7.1, the ability to turn off what Apple calls "Perspective … Read more

Nostalgia Electrics mini fridge for cold drinks on tap

No refrigerator is complete without beverages. Just think how deserted the inside of the fridge looks when that top shelf is empty. So sad. It could be filled up with beer, iced coffee, and iced tea, but instead there is nothing. Nothing but a wilted head of lettuce staring back forlornly. It is not pleasant imagery, but it doesn't have to be reality. Or does it?

The interior of the fridge could be a landscape of desolation and yet still be stocked with your favorite beverage of choice. "What sorcery is this?" the thirsty may ask. Luckily, … Read more

1981 DeLorean modded with in-dash iPad interface

Dr. Emmett Brown made a good point in "Back to the Future" when he said to Marty McFly, "The way I see it, if you're gonna build a time machine into a car, why not do it with some style?"

If you plan on roaming the streets in a 1981 DeLorean, you might as well customize it to your liking. That's exactly what YouTube user DMCPat says in a video about the impressive modifications he made to his classic DeLorean, including adding an iPad Mini interface.

This 1981 DeLorean is a Vin 1880, which means it's one of the first 1,000 cars shipped to the US. It has many modifications, including a rear spoiler, a high-mounted third brake light, remote lock/unlock, new wheels and steering wheel, seal-beamed LED lights, LED fog lights, blue LED interior door lights, and blue LED underbody lights, just to name a few. … Read more
