The invite says only, "We still have a lot to cover," and has colorful leaves from the Apple logo.

The press conference will take place at Yerba Buena Center for the Arts Theater in San Francisco, and begins at 10 a.m. PT. CNET will be there to bring you all the news, live. Stay tuned for more details on how to watch. … Read more

Google: Invite a friend to the Google Glass Explorer Program

The Google Glass proliferation is beginning. And, for those who want a piece of the action it's going to take knowing friends in high places.

Google started sending out e-mails to some of the owners of the Google Glass Explorer Edition on Tuesday saying that these select few were allowed to invite one friend to join the program, according to Marketing Land.

"We love sharing glass with our friends, because adventures through Glass are more fun with others," Google wrote in the e-mail. "Here's your chance to invite one friend into the Glass Explorer Program.&… Read more

Review: Wedding Cards offers rudimentary invitations for digital-only delivery

Wedding Cards works well enough, but with the limited number of invitations, bare-bones customization tools, and limited sending options, it is hard to imagine using this as your only wedding announcement or invitation tool. There simply are not enough features and the resulting invitations don't look as polished or as personal as most couples will want.

Wedding Cards has five total cards to choose from, two of which are invitations. Each of them can be customized with your own text, but in most cases that is all you can change. There are no options to add photos, print the … Read more

Google+ gets update for iPhone and a new iPad version

Built as a Universal update, Google+ version 3.0 adds new features to the iPhone app and is the first version that is made for the iPad with its own unique interface features.

On both iOS devices, you'll now be able to create and manage Google Events. You can create an event, manage comments, add photos, and see who is coming to the event. All the info from past events is saved as well, so you can go back and revisit them later.

Google Hangouts are now supported on both iOS devices as well, which means you'll be … Read more

Apple sends out invites for March 7 iPad event

Confirming reports from earlier this month, Apple this morning sent out invites to an iPad-related event taking place on March 7.

As in years past, Apple is holding its event at San Francisco's Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in downtown San Francisco, as opposed to its headquarters in Cupertino, Calif. where the company recently held its annual shareholders meeting and the unveiling of the iPhone 4S last October.

The invite says only "We have something you really have to see. And touch."

The date confirms a report from iMore (formerly Tipb) earlier this month, claiming … Read more

What's a PS Vita game cost? Ask again tomorrow

Several PlayStation Vita games are seeing preorder price cuts (and one disappointing price increase) before the launch of the next-generation handheld gaming device planned of February 22.

Little Deviants, Wipeout 2048, Modnation Racers: Road Trip, Reality Fighters, and Hot Shots Golf: World Invitation, which cost $39.99 previously, are currently available for $29.99 (via Amazon, GameStop and others).

Sadly, it seems that the highly anticipated Uncharted: Golden Abyss for Vita rose in price from $39.99 to $49.99. There's little doubt that the next game in the Nathan Drake saga will be stunning and sell moderately well, but I feel a $50 retail price will turn off many gamers.

There is a certain sweet spot at $29 that Sony will have difficulty ignoring as time passes. I cannot envision a sustainable business model selling $50 triple-A portable games, regardless of the visuals or experience. … Read more

A translation of Apple's iPhone event invite

Despite its usual brevity, Apple's event invite this morning leaves a lot to chew on.

It goes without saying that the tag line "Let's talk iPhone" spells out that we'll be seeing the new phone from the company. The question is if there will be two new phones, something Apple's never done.

Also unclear is whether Apple plans to skip an update to its iPod line ahead of the holiday season, and if the "let's talk iPhone" tag line might also be talking about the much-rumored enhancements to Apple's Voice … Read more

Google, Facebook spar over Google+ invite issue

A purported mishandling of Google+ invitation links that keeps them from surfacing on Facebook user news feeds has resulted in a "he said, she said" match between the two companies.

A video that was posted earlier today on YouTube by a Google employee depicts an unusual behavior, with Google+ invite links that have been shared with Facebook friends not showing up in the news feeds of other users, despite appearing to do so once posted.

That video was linked to by Vic Gundotra, the senior vice president of social business for Google, in a Google+ posting earlier today, … Read more
