Homeland Security busts child porn ring on Tor network

The US Department of Homeland Security announced Tuesday that it has arrested 14 men who were allegedly operating a child pornography Web site on the anonymous Tor network.

The arrests were the culmination of one of the agency's largest ever online child exploitation investigations -- dubbed "Operation Round Table." The authorities have identified 251 victims who were exploited on the site. The majority of the victims, 243, were male and their ages ranged from 3 to 17; they were identified as being from 39 US states and five foreign countries.

Pair said to have illegally minted $1M worth of Bitcoins

One of regulators' biggest worries about virtual currencies, like Bitcoin, is whether they may be susceptible to fraud or manipulation. Well, two people in Germany apparently just proved this was possible.

The pair is accused of illegally generating nearly $1 million worth of Bitcoins, according to the Associated Press. German police nabbed the two people during a computer fraud investigation earlier this week. No further details on the arrests were available.

Silk Road drug busts multiply, eight new people arrested

Authorities are not stopping with the takedown of Silk Road's alleged owner; they've also started going after supposed drug dealers who used the online black market Web site.

Since alleged owner Ross Ulbricht's indictment last week, eight people in three different countries have been arrested in association with Silk Road. Authorities claim all these people were dealing drugs on the site.

HTC One designers jailed for allegedly stealing trade secrets

A trio of top HTC One designers have been arrested in Taiwan for allegedly scheming to steal company trade secrets and start their own mobile design company, according to Engadget.

The three designers -- vice president of design Thomas Chien, senior manager of design Justin Huang, and development director Wu Chien-Hung -- were reportedly arrested by the police on Saturday. News of their arrest caused HTC's shares to tumble nearly 6 percent on Monday.

Netflix in talks for new season of 'Arrested Development'

Despite a lukewarm reception to Netflix's initial effort to resurrect "Arrested Development" on the Web, the video-streaming company is reportedly willing to give the series another shot.

Brian Grazer, co-chairman of the production company Imagine Entertainment, revealed Thursday that his company was in negotiations with Netflix for another Web-only season of the popular series.

"We are in conversations with them to do another," Grazer said in an interview with Bloomberg Television at the Allen & Co. conference in Sun Valley, Idaho. "They are interested in doing that."
